Don Lovelace is a veteran media executive who currently serves as the VP of Audience  for Lakeway Publishers. Based in Morristown, Tennessee, he oversees distribution and marketing for all the company’s newspapers and magazines across Tennessee and Virginia.

Professional Career & Leadership

Lovelace has over 35 years of experience in the newspaper industry:

  • Lakeway Publishers: He returned to his current leadership role in September 2021 after a two-year hiatus. He previously held the same position from 2005 to 2019.
  • Tennessee Press Association (TPA): He has been a prominent leader in the state’s press community, serving as Chairman of the Circulation Committee for over 15 years (2008–2019 & 2021-2026).
  • Morris Communications: He began his career in 1989 in Augusta, Georgia, at The Augusta Chronicle for 16 years before moving to Tennessee.
  • Industry Affiliations: He has been an active member of the Southern Circulation Managers Association since 1995.

Community Involvement

Lovelace is highly active in Morristown-area non-profits and community organizations:

  • Friends of Panther Creek State Park: He has served as President of this non-profit since 2014, recently representing the park in early 2026 when it received the “Excellence in Amenities” award from Tennessee State Parks.
  • Hamblen County Substance Abuse Coalition (HCSAC): He serves as the Vice Chair of this coalition, focusing on local prevention and education efforts.
  • Arrowhead Church: He and his family are active members of Arrowhead Church in Morristown.

Personal Life

  • Family: Don is married to Katja Lovelace, a local fitness instructor & accountant.
  • Children & Grandchildren: They have three children—Trey, Trent, and Nina—and three grandchildren: Levi, Aurora, and Oaklee.
